Join us for an in-depth multi-day class to prepare for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). This course will cover ARE 4.0 Building Design and Construction Systems.
After this seminar, most participants will be ready to take the exams within one week of the course, with no further studying needed. We suggest you schedule your exam to take place soon after you take the course.

Instructor: Michael Ermann, Associate Professor, Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design
Michael Ermann is a tenured associate professor at Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture + Design, where he’s taught design studio, building systems, materials and methods of construction, and architectural acoustics. Ermann has authored or co-authored eight journal papers in the field of acoustics and presented more than 20 papers on building systems. He is author of the book Architectural Acoustics Illustrated (Wiley, 2015). Erman is the former Undergraduate Architecture Program Co-chairman and has earned design, teaching, research, and outreach awards for his work.
Ermann received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Tulane University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Florida. He has passed the ARE 4.0 Building Systems and BDCS exams and the ARE 5.0 PPD and PDD exams. Ermann has taught these classes to thousands of ARE test takers through AIA New York, AIA Miami, AIA Washington DC, AIA Houston, AIA Dallas, AIA Raleigh, AIA Northern Virginia, AIA New Mexico, AIA Alaska, and AIA National. Thousands more have enrolled in his video course on this subject and his Youtube channel has over three million views.
