Instructor: David Thaddeus, AIA, NCARB, Associate Professor of Structures and Architectural Design, College of Architecture, University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
David Thaddeus has been at UNC-Charlotte since 1999. Prior to this appointment he was Associate Professor at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture, University of Houston, where he taught architectural structures and design from 1989-1999. Professor Thaddeus earned his Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon (1981) and his Master of Architecture from the University of Houston (1988).
While teaching at the University of Houston, David Thaddeus developed a review course for the General Structures and Lateral Forces Divisions of the Architect Registration Exam (ARE) and first offered the course to interns in 1989. Since then, his course has evolved into an intense 3 day workshop. Professor Thaddeus, otherwise known as “the structures guru”, presents a thorough, clear, easy to understand review of what you need to know to pass the structures divisions of the ARE. His seminar is highly regarded for having helped thousands take the exam with confidence and PASS. He has lectured for AIA chapters throughout the US, Puerto Rico and Canada, and presents an abbreviated version of his seminar annually at the AIA National Convention.
