EnergyPlus for Practitioners (2 Day Workshop)

This two-day workshop focuses on getting energy modeling practitioners up to speed with EnergyPlus as quickly as possible. It covers the fundamentals of EnergyPlus including geometry and internal loads, and more advanced topics such as HVAC systems and controls.

On the first day, participants will get walk-through of the EnergyPlus syntax, input/output files, documentation, and essential software tools including the OpenStudio (legacy) plugin for SketchUp. Participants will also learn how to use the available resources to continue their EnergyPlus education moving forward. Demonstrations and hands-on exercises will be used throughout the day.

Big Ladder Software have developed their training materials from scratch over a period of several years based on their extensive experience using EnergyPlus to model real-world projects and helping others do the same. This workshop should be a prerequisite for anyone planning to work with EnergyPlus, regardless of what user interface they choose.
