Please use the link provided here to sign-up for the tour of the following offices:

Slade Architecture
77 Chambers Street, 5th Floor

At Slade Architecture, we believe in the power of design to improve the world. We are passionate about our work and are always looking for opportunities to work with a client/partner to develop a solution that delivers the full expectation for the project, within the budget, but also goes beyond to offer some unexpected benefit. Our work stretches a variety of programs, from homeless shelters to hospitality spaces to guidelines for retail space in public housing. Because we work across so many different arenas at so many different scales, we bring a set of experiences and expertise that enable the most innovative solutions. We are passionate about using our design abilities and dedication to improve the built environment where we have the opportunity to do so.

Slade Architecture is an award-winning New York-based MBE architectural firm. Founded in 2002 by Hayes Slade and James Slade, our firm is seasoned with the experience of over 120 projects that span a tremendous range. We take pride in working at every scale, to articulate the client’s interests with simplicity and impact. In collaboration with our clients, we design spaces that merge concept and functionality. Our approach is at once structured and unique to the situation; creating the design paradigm for the specific context and need.

Selldorf Architects
860 Broadway

Selldorf Architects is a 70-person architectural design practice founded by Annabelle Selldorf in New York City in 1988. The firm creates public and private spaces that manifest a clear and modern sensibility to enduring impact.

The firm’s clients include cultural institutions and universities such as the Frick Collection, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, The Clark Art Institute, Neue Galerie New York, New York University, and Brown University. In addition, the firm has created numerous galleries for David Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, and Gladstone Gallery among others, and designed exhibitions for the Whitney Museum, Frieze Masters, Gagosian Gallery, and the Venice Art Biennale. In recent years, Selldorf Architects completed the Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility on the Brooklyn waterfront, the largest facility of its kind in the United States and converted a former rail depot into LUMA Arles, a new contemporary art center in Arles, France, where construction is scheduled to be completed this year. In New York City the firm has designed Steinway Hall in midtown-Manhattan, a retail showroom and recital space for the legendary piano maker, and several multi-family condominium buildings including 42 Crosby Street, 10 Bond Street, and 200 Eleventh Avenue.

SOM
14 Wall Street

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) is one of the leading architecture, interior design, engineering, and urban planning firms in the world. Since its founding more than 80 years ago, SOM has earned a reputation for design excellence with a portfolio that includes some of the most important architectural accomplishments of the 20th and 21st centuries, and has been a leader in the research and development of specialized technologies, new processes and innovative ideas, many of which have had a palpable and lasting impact on the design profession and the physical environment.

The firm’s longstanding leadership in design and building technology has been honored with nearly 2,000 awards for quality, innovation, and management. The American Institute of Architects has recognized SOM twice with its highest honor, the Architecture Firm Award-in 1962 and again in 1996. The firm maintains offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, and Mumbai.

The SOM Women’s Initiative was established in 2011 to cultivate and promote the continued development and success of women at SOM. SOMWI aims to encourage a sense of community and professional support within the firm through various mentoring programs, workshops, events, and internal networks. Our mission is to position SOM as a leader in the design community by challenging barriers to gender equity and by fostering retention and growth of women to create an excellent, innovative and sustainable workplace that reflects and enhances our built environment.
