This course covers the new local Lead-Based Paint laws and their requirements affecting construction projects in New York City. When handling renovation projects, Architects need to be aware of how lead regulations will affect the approach to interior demolitions and other scopes of work. Based on the age of the building and the ultimate goal of the project, clients could be best served by pursuing either Lead Free or Lead Safe Exemptions with HPD, the agency governing all pre-1960 buildings affected by these laws. Choosing a lead-free or lead-safe approach will affect the design, planning and construction activities associated with the project. This course will provide attendees with the required knowledge to determine the most appropriate course of action.
