Dear Friends of the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee,

We have a special event planned for our first 2020 Monthly Committee Meeting on the 15th of January.

After a brief announcement of the WIA Upcoming Events & Programs, Around Town & Related Events, and Topics & Good Reads, Cameron Ringness, AIA, an Associate from FXCollaborative will join us to present the design of the Statue of Liberty Museum project.

We look forward to seeing you on January 15, 2020, and thank you in advance for your participation and support.

Speaker:
Cameron Ringness, AIA, Associate, FXCollaborative, is an architect, artist and teacher originally from Cleveland, Ohio, living and working in New York City; exploring the exchange of mediums, seeking social engagement and challenging perception. She is an associate at FXCollaborative Architects and teaches visual art at the Women’s Prison Association.
She was the lead designer of the new Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island and is currently the lead designer for the new Children’s Museum of Manhattan to be completed in 2023.
Her past experience includes Reed Hilderbrand Associates and Diller Scofidio + Renfro, contributing to projects such as the Charles James Exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Cameron attended the University of Virginia School of Architecture and holds a Masters from Tulane University where she helped design and build multiple Tulane City Center (now Small Center) projects in the New Orleans community. She has also worked and studied in Copenhagen and Beijing.

The committees of AIA New York are the foundations from which the Chapter positions itself in the field of architecture, whether through discussion, advocacy, policy making and development, event and exhibition planning, or other endeavors.

Committees meet monthly, usually at the Center for Architecture. AIA members, AIA associate members, and general public are all welcome to participate.

If you have questions or are considering attending a meeting for the first time, contact each committee’s co-chairs for more information at aiany.org/committees.
