Increasing traffic congestion. Declining transit ridership. Bicyclist and pedestrian fatalities on the rise. Is it all bad news? And what can we do about it? Sustainable transportation advocate Veronica Vanterpool, Principal, V Squared Strategies, LLC and MTA Board Member, weighs in on the future of transportation and mobility in New York City. Constant headlines suggest progress is backsliding, when in fact, this city of 8.5 million people might just be at the precipice of a transportation revolution.

Join Open House New York for a discussion about the impacts of congestion pricing policy, the Vision Zero initiative, and new technologies being implemented across the system to address the critical challenges facing the city. A conversation with Sarah M. Kaufman, Associate Director of the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation, will follow.

This program is part of The Moving City: Transportation Infrastructures of New York, a year-long series of tours, conversations and debates about the future of transportation and mobility in New York City. Major support has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and matching gifts from our 2019 Spring Benefit Donation Challenge supporters.
