Building of the Day: BRIC Arts Media House & UrbanGlass

As part of NYCxDESIGN, the Center for Architecture will host an Archtober preview featuring five days of building tours across the five boroughs, with a focus on cultural institutions. Join us on Monday, May 13 for a tour of BRIC Arts Media House & Urban Glass.

Leeser Architecture’s renovation and expansion of an existing, under-utilized building involves two user groups: BRIC Arts | Media | Brooklyn and UrbanGlass. Leeser Architecture juggled complex programmatic demands and highly specific uses to create an open and accessible arts facility that invites the community inside to engage with the myriad of activities occurring within. The project includes a full renovation of the interior space to create new theaters, television broadcasting studios, art galleries, glass workshops, media labs, classrooms, administrative and operation offices, and support spaces.
