This class will provide an introduction to the elements of English and collegiate gothic architecture for students with some background in art of architecture. At the end of this course, students will be able to draw and name many of the elements found within this style, and will leave with a collection of notated sketches of molding profiles, their appropriate design context, as well as a simple clay model of a gothic molding. All of this will serve as a useful starting point for a student’s own continued education on the gothic style. Pre-Requisites: Some background in art or architecture is helpful but not required.
