The adaptive reuse of this abandoned 1903 public school saved it from the wrecking ball, and transformed it into a vibrant new Boys & Girls Club and affordable housing. As a result of Dattner Architects’ thoughtful renovation, which included recreating original building details from photographs and retaining the original character of the school as a backdrop to new uses, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
