This June marks the 50th anniversary of the first march to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising. In its immediate aftermath, new activist groups emerged fighting for liberation and visibility. However, New York City has a long and vibrant LGBT history dating to the early 20th century. Join the Build Out Alliance and panelists Andrew Dolkart and Ken Lustbader for a survey of pre- and post-Stonewall historic sites associated with early LGBT activism that influenced American culture and politics.

The NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project is a nonprofit cultural initiative and educational resource that is making an invisible history visible by documenting extant historic and cultural sites associated with the LGBT community throughout New York City. For more, visit www.nyclgbtsites.org.
