TWA Hotel Tour

Join the AIANY Interiors Committee at the John F. Kennedy Airport for a tour of the newly completed TWA Hotel. The tour will include the restored Saarinen-designed beloved building (a project led by Beyer Blinder Belle Architects), the two brand new hotel wings behind it (designed by LUBRANO CIAVARRA Architects with interior design by Stonehill Taylor) and the 50,000 sf events center (by INC Architecture & Design). It was a massive three year long endeavor, involving over 170 government agencies and consulting firms.

Tour Leaders:
Dale Lunan, RA, Associate and Project Manager, LUBRANO CIAVARRA ARCHITECTS (LCA). Dale joined LCA in 2010, and he has contributed to award winning projects while working directly with private, non‐profit, and government clients. He began his professional career at the firm Otte Architecture. He then worked at Gluckman Mayner Architects, collaborating on international art museums. LCA’s role on the job is: Design Architect for New Construction and Site Planning; Consulting Architect for Overall Project.

The following people from INC Architecture & Design, who designed the event spaces, will also lead the tour:

Drew Stuart, AIA, LEED AP, Field Director, Partner, INC Architecture & Design PLLC. Drew has been engaged in the practice of architecture for nearly two decades. At the University of Cincinnati School of Architecture, and in extensive travels to Europe and Asia, Drew developed a commitment to quality and craft. He joined Tsao & McKown Architects in 1999 where he worked for seven years before founding INC in 2006. He has designed and executed private residential interiors, homes, hotels, spas, restaurants and large and small residential condominium developments ‐ all with a domestic sensibility.

Hilary Kroll, AIA, LEED AP, Project Manager, Senior Associate, INC Architecture & Design PLLC. Hilary joined INC Architecture and Design in 2006. She is a Leed AP and a licensed architect in New York State. She received a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and also studied in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a Senior Associate at INC, she has been the Project Manager and Project Architect at INC for many projects that range from residential design including multifamily condominiums and private residences of all types, to hospitality design including hotels, restaurants, spas, fitness centers, conference centers, and amenity spaces.
