On June 13th, FXCollaborative will host a panel of three industry professionals who will be discussing the importance of LGBTQ inclusive senior housing.

Latisha Millard Bethea, Director of NYC Housing from SAGE, Danielle Cerone, an Associate from Marvell Architects and Dylan Salmons, a Senior Developer from Pennrose, will each talk about their involvement in making LGBTQ inclusive senior housing a reality for so many.

Coming out is hard enough the first time, let alone having to do it twice. Imagine being forced to live your older years in an environment in which you can no longer be you, pretending to be someone you are not in fear of being ostracized, isolated, teased and rejected. Imagine having lived a life with someone that you loved so much, for so long, and being forced to live without them, unable to share with those around you the other half of you which made you so complete. This is how it is for a large number of LGBTQ seniors moving into aged care. LGBTQ inclusive senior housing allows individuals to continue to be themselves, to be proud of who they are, to be out and to stay out.
