This hands-on course introduces basic Building Information Modeling (BIM) and BIM collaboration concepts.  Concluding the course, attendees will understand 3D modeling, the strategies needed and the benefits of adopting a streamlined BIM workflow.

Topics covered in the 6.5-hour training include:

  1. How to adopt a streamlined BIM workflow
    2.  Basic 3D modeling techniques
    3.  Different modes of collaboration across the AEC disciplines and how to create document deliverables
    4.  How to utilize the BIM Server, which allows instant group collaboration within a single project

Class size is limited to 10 students; each participant will be seated at a computer and will be able to follow along using the Archicad software. There will be a 60-minute lunch break and two coffee breaks. 

Prerequisite:  Currently utilizing CAD software.  Previous experience with 3D modeling is preferred but not required.
