Direct Air Capture (DAC) refers to a range of emerging technologies that draw and convert atmospheric carbon into stable forms. This carbon can then be sequestered or productively reused, effectively reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

With atmospheric carbon already at concentrations that consensus science deems unsafe, these solutions will likely be a necessary part of long-term strategies to prevent the most catastrophic impacts of climate change. Indeed, the underlying assumptions of the Paris Climate Accord include the scaling up of “negative emissions” solutions in the coming years.

Panelists, including representatives from early-stage DAC firms and subject experts, will explore potential applications of DAC in cities. We will also investigate how creative urban solutions may help catalyze and drive DAC from obscurity to maturity.
