Please join the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee for a conversation with Susan T. Rodriguez, FAIA.

Speaker
Susan T. Rodriguez, FAIA, Principal, Susan T. Rodriguez|Architecture • Design.

Susan Rodriguez has recently begun an independent practice, combining more than thirty years of design leadership creating buildings and spaces for cultural, educational, and civic institutions. She is driven by her passionate belief in the power of architecture to effect change and improve the quality of life for all. Designing at the intersection of architecture and the public realm, her work distills the essence of cultures and communities. Weaving together structure, materials, textures, space, light, and color, she creates architecturally powerful identities that reveal the vitality of the program within, while forging lasting connections to place. Her award-winning body of work is recognized internationally for design excellence and its contribution to the life of cities, landscapes, and the communities and institutions it serves. In 2016, she was honored by Architectural Record with the Women in Architecture Design Leader Award for the breadth and impact of her built work over three decades as a Founding Partner and Design Principal at Ennead Architects (formerly Polshek Partnership).

Rodriguez actively promotes the importance of design in the public realm as a longtime board member of the Architectural League of New York and a founding board member of Art Works Projects: Art + Design for Human Rights. She lectures frequently and has taught numerous design studios at The City College of New York as well as Cornell and Columbia Universities. Rodriguez received a Masters degree in Architecture from Columbia University and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University, where she was a trustee and currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council.
