The eight-floor, 60,000-square-foot Lenfest Center for the Arts is the second building to open at Columbia University’s new Manhattanville campus. Featuring multiple venues for Columbia University’s School of the Arts, the building includes the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery, a 150-seat film screening room; a flexible performance space, and presentation space for readings, symposia, and seminars. The building’s design contains sound and vibrations within venues and creates open floor plates for galleries – overcoming inherent challenges of constructing an urban arts center.

Architect: Design Architect: Renzo Piano Building Workshop; Executive Architect: Davis Brody Bond; Associate Architect: Body-Lawson Associates

Tour Guide: Victor Body-Lawson, AIA, Principal, Body-Lawson Associates Architects & Planners; Fanny Gong, FAIA, Associate Vice President – Design Management, Columbia University Manhattanville Development; Frank Giannelli, RA, Senior Project Manager, Manhattanville Development, Columbia University Facilities
