Designed and constructed by GLUCK+ with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, the award-winning Cary Leeds Tennis Center includes a two-story, 12,000 -square-foot clubhouse and education facility with two world class stadium exhibition courts and 20 public outdoor courts. The flagship for Arthur Ashe’s New York Junior Tennis & Learning program, the center serves an estimated 30,000 students in the South Bronx. Conceptually, the venue is designed as a series of platforms – both for viewing tennis and metaphorically as a platform to encourage afterschool learning, creating opportunities for neighborhood children to experience success on the tennis court as well as in life.
