Please join us for a discussion of the books  John Yeon Architecture: Building in the Pacific Northwest and Wright’s Writings: Reflection on Culture and Politics 1894-1959.

John Yeon Architecture: Building in the Pacific Northwest edited by Randy Gragg is the first in-depth monograph on Yeon, a pioneering architect who helped establish Northwest Regional modernism. The book looks beyond Yeon’s better known residential work and explores his legacy as a planner, conservationist, and artist.

Wright’s Writings: Reflection on Culture and Politics 1894-1959 is a set of essays by Kenneth Frampton which, paired with reproductions of Wright’s writing and drawings, provides a unique history of Wright’s work.

Gragg and Frampton will be joined in conversation by Barry Bergdoll, who is a contributor to John Yeon Architecture and curator of Frank Lloyd Wright at 150: Unpacking the Archive at MoMA.

Barry Bergdoll, Assoc. AIA, Meyer Schapiro Professor of Art History, Department of Art History and Archaeology, Columbia University

Kenneth Frampton, Assoc. AIA, Professor, Columbia University
